MUSCAT: The Met office reported cloud cover over several governorates across the Sultanate. Cumulus clouds were observed over the coasts of Dhofar Governorate and its adjoining mountain areas, bringing light drizzle, while low clouds and fog were forming over parts of the Arabian Sea coastline and the Sea of Oman coast.

As per the weather forecast for Wednesday, August 5, 2026, cloudy to partly cloudy conditions will persist along the Dhofar coast and mountains, with intermittent drizzle expected throughout the day.
Meteorologists also forecast medium and high cloud cover over most governorates, with the potential for convective cloud development during the afternoon over parts of the Al Hajar Mountains. These conditions could trigger isolated rainfall and occasional thundershowers accompanied by fresh winds.

Late-night and early-morning low clouds are also likely over parts of South Al Sharqiyah and Al Wusta governorates, as well as sections of the Sea of Oman coastline.
Dust is expected to rise over desert and open areas, potentially reducing visibility.
