MUSCAT: According to forecasts based on the Omani Numerical Model, convective cloud formation is expected during the afternoon over parts of the Hajar Mountains, with isolated to scattered rain that may be accompanied by thunderstorms, fresh winds and hail. The weather activity could extend to desert areas during the evening.
The weather forecast for Monday, August 3, 2026, also indicates partly cloudy skies over the coasts and mountains of Dhofar, with intermittent drizzle expected in the region. Medium and high-level clouds are forecast to move across most governorates.
Low clouds are expected to form over parts of South Al Sharqiyah and Al Wusta governorates, as well as sections of the Oman Sea coastline.

Oman Meteorology also warned of dust being raised over deserts and open areas, which could reduce horizontal visibility. Visibility may also be affected by fog formation and rainfall in some locations.
