MUSCAT – According to the forecast, thunderstorms are likely to affect areas of the Hajar Mountains and nearby regions. The weather activity may be accompanied by strong downdrafts, increasing the risk of reduced visibility and hazardous conditions.
The met office also cautioned that heavy rainfall associated with the thunderstorms could trigger flash flooding in wadis and low-lying valleys, urging residents and motorists to exercise caution, particularly in flood-prone areas.
