Oman military bands win top honours at world music championships in Scotland

DUMBARTON – The ensemble also topped the drum corps category in the same competition, held in Dumbarton, Scotland, which drew more than 130 bands across various divisions.
The accolade was the result of a polished performance and unwavering discipline, reflecting a high standard of musicianship and professionalism.
The Royal Army of Oman (RAO) Band secured a new international milestone, earning first place as the best marching and discipline ensemble, along with a fourth place finish in the World Level 3 (B) category at the Scottish Championships in Dumbarton. The event featured over 130 teams representing the world’s finest military bands.
The achievement underscores the band’s advanced capabilities in military musical performance, precision, execution and adherence to the highest standards of discipline and professionalism, following intense competition that highlighted the experience and artistry of participating ensembles.
The honour adds to the RAO Band’s growing list of international accolades, confirming the competence of its personnel and the effectiveness of its continuous training and preparation programmes.
