MUSCAT : Dhofar is set to welcome a major new tourist attraction this Khareef season with the official opening of the Salalah Eye observation wheel on August 15, 2026, at Al Haffa Beach.

Rising 55 metres above the Arabian Sea, Salalah Eye will be the tallest observation wheel in Oman. The attraction features 30 fully enclosed, air-conditioned cabins, each capable of accommodating up to six passengers while offering sweeping 360-degree views of Salalah’s coastline, mountain ranges and the green landscapes that emerge during the annual Khareef season.

Each rotation is expected to last between eight and 12 minutes, providing visitors with an elevated view of one of the region’s most distinctive seasonal landscapes.

Positioned close to the New Haffa Souq, the project has been developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and Dhofar Municipality as part of broader efforts to enhance Salalah’s tourism infrastructure and strengthen its appeal beyond the monsoon season.

Developers describe the attraction as a new landmark that celebrates Dhofar’s unique natural beauty, where the annual Khareef transforms the governorate’s mountains into lush green landscapes under cool misty weather.

Standard tickets have been priced at RO7, while a private family cabin for up to six passengers will cost RO28. Visitors who book early can avail of a promotional fare of RO5.

The Salalah Eye will operate daily from 10am to 11pm during the Khareef season, adding another landmark attraction to one of Oman’s most popular tourism destinations.
