MUSCAT – The exemption applies to items that are for personal use and are not intended for commercial purposes, according to the Directorate General of Customs.
To qualify for the customs duty exemption, the traveller’s belongings and gifts must be of a personal nature and their total value must not exceed RO 300.
Oman Customs said the items must not have a commercial character, while the traveller must not be a frequent user of customs services.
The exemption also requires the traveller to be at least 18 years old.
