MUSCAT – According to figures released by the federation, the GFOW handled 15 cases involving individual and collective labour complaints, resolving 10 cases, referring two cases to court, while three cases remained under review.
The federation also responded to 59 legal inquiries and consultations from workers seeking guidance on labour-related issues.
In addition to legal support, the GFOW reported the establishment of two new trade unions during the month, while four existing trade unions completed procedures to comply with legal requirements.

The federation said the cases and consultations covered a broad range of employment-related issues, including wages, leave entitlements, working hours, annual salary increments, project transfers, project completion, economic conditions affecting employment, termination of employment contracts, and demands for improved working conditions.
Other matters addressed included procedures for establishing trade unions, requests submitted by expatriate workers, and labour issues related to the maritime sector.
