MUSCAT : The agreements include support for scholarship programmes for students in schools located within PDO concession areas, as well as funding for the ‘Mustaed’ youth skills development camp aimed at enhancing employability and professional capabilities among Omani youth.

In the health sector, the initiatives include support for the establishment of a specialised orthopaedic clinic at Khoula Hospital, and a new accident and emergency unit at Al Jazer Hospital, in addition to other healthcare-related projects.

Environmental initiatives under the agreements include an early warning system project to monitor seawater quality, reflecting PDO’s focus on sustainability and environmental protection.

The company said the initiatives are built on four key pillars aligned with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, focusing on national development, sustainability, community impact, and human capital development through education and skills training.

PDO noted that the agreements reflect its broader institutional approach of extending its role beyond core energy operations to deliver long-term social and environmental value.

The company added that the initiatives are part of its ongoing commitment to balancing operational performance with national responsibility, while supporting sustainable development priorities in the Sultanate of Oman.
