Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested a suspect accused of vandalising and stealing from a commercial establishment in Wilayat Al Amerat in Muscat Governorate.
In a statement, the General Department of Inquiries and Criminal Investigation said the individual was taken into custody for allegedly carrying out a night-time break-in at a shop, during which property was damaged and items were stolen.
The ROP confirmed that legal procedures are being completed against the suspect and the case has been referred to the relevant authorities.

The police also urged business owners to install surveillance and alarm systems in commercial establishments to enhance security and deter criminal activity. Authorities further advised against keeping large sums of cash inside shops and offices to reduce the risk of losses in the event of theft.
