Muscat: The Consumer Protection Department in South Al Batinah Governorate has taken legal action against a group of expatriate workers involved in repackaging expired animal feed for resale using new packaging displaying valid expiry dates.
According to the Consumer Protection Authority, the operation was uncovered following a report received from a consumer. Inspectors carried out an investigation that led to the apprehension of the violators at a facility in Barka, where the expired animal feed was being repackaged with the intention of deceiving buyers.
The CPA said financial penalties were imposed on those responsible, while the seized animal feed was ordered to be destroyed in accordance with the applicable legal procedures.
