MUSCAT – Preliminary statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information showed that the production of regular (91) octane gasoline decreased by 7.9 percent to reach 5,326,100 barrels by the end of April 2026, compared to 5,781,000 barrels during the same period in 2025.
In contrast, sales of regular (91 octane) gasoline rose slightly by 0.2 percent, reaching 5,125,300 barrels by the end of April 2026, compared to 5,115,700 barrels during the same period in 2025. Exports also increased by 2.8 percent, reaching 1,393,100 barrels by the end of April 2026, compared to 1,354,600 barrels by the end of April 2025.
Production of premium (95) car fuel also declined by 3 percent to reach 4,276,800 barrels until the end of April 2026, compared to 4,410,900 barrels during the same period in 2025.

Sales of premium (95) octane fuel increased by 6.5 percent, reaching 4,736,300 barrels by the end of April 2026, compared to 4,446,200 barrels during the same period last year. However, exports decreased by 32.8 percent to reach 252,700 barrels, compared to 376,000 barrels during the same period in 2025.
Regarding gas oil (diesel), production decreased by 3.3 percent, recording 23,704,500 barrels until the end of April 2026, compared to 24,511,100 barrels during the same period in 2025.
Diesel sales also declined by 40.1 percent, reaching 3,336,900 barrels by the end of April 2026, compared to 5,574,500 barrels during the same period last year. Exports decreased by 9.5 percent, recording 18,194,400 barrels by the end of April 2026, compared to 20,112,900 barrels by the end of April 2025.
In contrast, jet fuel production recorded an increase of 10.9 percent to reach 8,862,600barrels by the end of April 2026, compared to 7,988,400 barrels during the same period in 2025.
Jet fuel sales also grew by 14.8 percent, reaching 1,428,900 barrels, compared to 1,245,000 barrels during the same period last year. Exports increased by 13.4 percent to reach 7,321,200 barrels, compared to 6,455,000 barrels during the same period in 2025.
Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) production decreased by 4.9 percent to reach 3,598,200 barrels by the end of April 2026, compared to 3,782,900 barrels during the same period in 2025.
LPG sales declined by 18.8 percent, reaching 1,059,300 barrels compared to 1,304,300 barrels during the same period last year. Exports decreased by 6.1 percent to reach 1,068,500 barrels compared to 1,137,900 barrels.
Naphtha production increased by 2.9 percent to reach 12,379,700 barrels by the end of April 2026, compared to 12,031,400 barrels during the same period in 2025.
Naphtha sales increased by 9.1 percent, reaching 4,762,500 barrels compared to 4,364,900 barrels during the same period last year. Exports decreased by 1.9 percent, reaching 7,711,600 barrels compared to 7,862,900 barrels.
Other refinery products recorded a slight production increase of 0.1 percent, reaching 12,899,500 barrels by the end of April 2026, compared to 12,883,300 barrels during the same period in 2025.
Sales of other refinery products declined by 71.3 percent, reaching 3,331,100 barrels compared to 11,616,600 barrels during the same period in 2025. Exports increased by 20.4 percent, reaching 3,955,100 barrels compared to 3,284,300 barrels.
Gasoline production increased to 67,700 metric tons by the end of April 2026, compared to 59,500 metric tons during the same period in 2025. Exports also increased by 10.1 percent, reaching 64,000 metric tons compared to 58,100 metric tons.
Paraxylene production increased to 213,700 metric tons by the end of April 2026, compared to 196,700 metric tons during the same period in 2025. Exports decreased by 5.3 percent to 215,900 metric tons, compared to 228,000 metric tons.
Polypropylene production decreased by 25.7 percent, reaching 76,300 metric tons by the end of April 2026, compared to 102,600 metric tons during the same period last year.
Despite the decline in production, polypropylene sales increased by 17.5 percent, reaching 12,700 metric tons compared to 10,800 metric tons during the same period in 2025. Exports declined by 21.7 percent, reaching 62,000 metric tons compared to 79,200 metric tons.
