MUSCAT : The statistics showed that Omani guests continued to top the list of visitors, rising by 3.5 per cent to 246,934 compared to the same period in 2025.

Visitors from Europe ranked second with 220,015 guests, followed by Asia with 106,189, Gulf Cooperation Council countries with 40,322, and other Arab countries with 25,714. Guests from the Americas reached 23,992, while Oceania recorded 7,083 and Africa 5,054.

Three- to five-star hotels recorded an occupancy rate of 50.2 per cent by the end of April 2026.

Despite the strong contribution of domestic and European markets, overall tourism performance recorded a decline, with total guest numbers falling by 15.9 per cent compared to 829,052 guests in the same period in 2025. Hotel revenues also decreased by 12.2 per cent from RO 109.48 million last year.
