MUSCAT – In a public awareness campaign, the company urged consumers to set air conditioners at 23°C to improve energy efficiency and help reduce pressure on the electricity grid during the summer heatwave.
Nama also advised households to avoid operating multiple high-consumption appliances simultaneously during peak hours between 12pm and 5pm. Instead, residents were encouraged to postpone the use of heavy electrical equipment until the evening to support more balanced energy consumption.
The company highlighted the impact of unnecessary electricity use, noting that devices left running without need contribute to additional load on the network. Consumers were encouraged to switch off unused appliances and equipment whenever possible.
On safety, Nama warned against overloading electrical outlets and using unsafe or improvised wiring connections, urging residents to distribute electrical loads properly to reduce risks to homes and families.
The company further highlighted the importance of ensuring adequate ventilation around electrical appliances, explaining that better airflow can improve efficiency, reduce energy consumption and extend equipment lifespan.
Nama said simple measures such as responsible energy use, proper load distribution and efficient air-conditioning settings can collectively contribute to a more stable electricity network and help ensure reliable service for all consumers during the summer season.
