MUSCAT : The Palau-flagged tanker Settobello reportedly came under attack in regional waters off Oman, according to initial reports, with two individuals believed to be missing following the incident.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the identities or nationalities of the missing persons, while details surrounding the reported attack remain unclear. Investigations are ongoing and officials are assessing the situation.
The Indian Embassy in Muscat said it was aware of the incident and was maintaining close contact with Omani authorities to monitor developments and ensure the safety of those on board.

“We have learnt of an incident involving a vessel off the coast of Oman. We are closely monitoring the situation and in close touch with the local authorities. We shall update soon,” the embassy said in a statement.
No further details have been released by authorities, and it was not immediately clear what caused the incident or the extent of any damage to the vessel.
