TRA invites public feedback on new private telecom network regulations in Oman

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has launched a public consultation on the draft Regulation for Private Telecommunications Networks Intended for Personal Use, inviting stakeholders to share their feedback on the proposed framework.

MUSCAT : The consultation is part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to keep pace with technological advancements, enhance the efficiency of digital infrastructure, and ensure that regulations support the evolving needs of the telecommunications sector.

According to the TRA, the proposed regulation seeks to govern the establishment and operation of fixed and mobile private telecommunications networks that operate independently from public telecommunications networks.

The draft regulation covers key areas, including licensing conditions and procedures, obligations of authorized users, and service requests submitted by licensees. Stakeholders are encouraged to review the proposed framework and share their comments through the Authority’s consultation platform.
