MUSCAT : The Consumer Protection Department in Barka has ordered the temporary closure of a commercial establishment specializing in women’s tailoring and suspended its operations pending the outcome of legal proceedings.

According to the Consumer Protection Authority, the action was taken after the business allegedly failed to provide the agreed service to consumers, in violation of the Consumer Protection Law and its Executive Regulations.

The closure was carried out in coordination with the Public Prosecution, with authorities confirming that the establishment will remain suspended while lawsuits filed against it are adjudicated.

The CPA stated that the measure falls within its efforts to protect consumer rights and ensure that businesses comply with contractual obligations and applicable regulations.
