MINSK : The Omani delegation currently visiting the Republic of Belarus today visited a number of specialized agricultural centres and research institutions in the city of Minsk, Republic of Belarus, to learn about leading Belarusian experiences in agricultural fields, food production and related research.
The delegation was led by Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.
The delegation visited “Dzerzhinsky” agro-industrial complex where it was briefed about the concept of “From Field to Consumer”, which features the stages of production, converting industries and marketing of a wide range of agricultural products and foodstuff, including dairy products, meat, vegetables and animal feed.

The delegation also visited research centres specialized in agricultural and veterinary fields. It listened to a briefing about the latest research programmes and techniques used in developing agricultural and livestock production. It took note of research projects in the areas of animal breeds, veterinary health and food security.

Later, the Omani delegation visited the main veterinary services centre in Minsk where learned about the system of livestock diagnostic and therapeutic services, in addition to technologies used in monitoring animal diseases and programmes to promote livestock health and productivity.

During the visits, the delegation discussed opportunities for cooperation and exchange of expertise in the fields of agricultural production, food industries, research and veterinary services.
