MUSCAT : Said Salim Al Shanfari, CEO of the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC), has been elected President of the UFI – The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry – for the 2027–2028 term, marking a significant milestone for Oman’s exhibitions and business events sector.
The appointment highlights Oman’s growing influence in the global meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry and reflects the Sultanate’s increasing prominence as a destination for international business events.
OCEC, a key asset of Omran Group and a major contributor to Oman’s tourism ecosystem, said the achievement underscores the continued development of the country’s exhibitions and conferences sector and its expanding role on the global stage.
