MUSCAT – The agreement reflects growing international interest in Oman’s emerging space sector and positions Etlaq as a strategic launch platform for global space companies seeking access to new markets and orbital opportunities.
Under the LOI, HyImpulse will assess the feasibility of conducting future launch missions from Etlaq Spaceport, beginning with short-term mission-related activities. The company will evaluate opportunities to support both its SR75 and SL1 launch vehicles using Etlaq’s launch infrastructure and operational support capabilities.
The agreement also provides a framework for exploring a longer-term presence at the spaceport as Etlaq continues to expand its facilities and mission support services. The move is expected to strengthen Oman’s position as a regional hub for commercial space activities and attract further international partnerships.

According to the two parties, Oman’s geographical location offers advantages for launch providers by enabling access to a wider range of orbital inclinations and providing greater mission flexibility. The location also opens potential pathways to customers across the GCC, Asia and emerging African markets.
Julanda Al Riyami, Chief Commercial Officer of Etlaq Spaceport, said the agreement demonstrates the confidence international space companies are placing in the Omani spaceport.
“Our role is to provide more than a location; we provide the operational environment, coordination, infrastructure and support needed to help launch companies prepare, operate and scale,” she said.
Dr. Christian Schmierer, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of HyImpulse, described the LOI as an important step in expanding the company’s international launch footprint beyond Europe and into the Middle East.
He said diversifying access to launch sites would enhance the company’s operational resilience and competitiveness while allowing it to evaluate both near-term mission opportunities and the potential for a long-term presence in a strategically important region.
