NEW YORK : The dollar index, which measures the performance of the US currency against a basket of six currencies, fell 0.1 to 98.95, its weakest level since the 18th of this month.
The dollar fell 0.2 percent against the Japanese yen to 158.9 yen, while the euro rose 0.3 percent to $1.1636.
The British pound rose 0.3 percent to $1.3476, the Australian dollar gained 0.5 percent to $0.7162, and the New Zealand dollar climbed 0.4 percent to $0.5869.
