Muscat: The ministry stated that central markets continue to witness a steady flow of produce, including leafy vegetables, fruit vegetables, root crops, and fruits, in quantities sufficient to meet consumer demand during the festive season.

According to the ministry, the “Silal” market alone received more than 20,000 tonnes of vegetables and fruits between May 1 and May 20, reflecting the readiness of markets to cater to increased consumer needs ahead of Eid Al-Adha.

Officials noted that continuous field inspections and monitoring operations are being carried out across central markets to maintain market stability and ensure uninterrupted food availability.

The ministry added that these efforts are part of broader measures aimed at strengthening food security, stabilising supply chains, and providing consumers with easy access to fresh produce during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year.
