This milestone represents a fundamental revamping of how customers access, activate and interact with financial solutions, providing a seamless digital experience from the moment they apply.

The Digital Debit Card is a digital only variant of a regular debit card which can be used to make online cashless transactions through e-commerce platforms or by tokenizing their card for payments via Apple or Samsung Pay, enabling quick tap-and-pay transactions at any point-of-sale terminal. The digital debit card is issued with its own unique card number, expiry date and CVV and can only be accessed through Mobile Banking. The application process is instant, allowing customers to receive and use the digital card immediately upon submission.

Digital Debit Cards offer customers a variety of benefits, including enhanced convenience as the card can be generated and activated instantly with zero issuance fees. Beyond local use, the card supports global transactions, empowering customers to shop confidently worldwide, including online and e-commerce purchases. In addition, it offers customers added security, as digital debit cards can’t get physically lost or duplicated like physical cards and offers secure OTP enabled transactions and advanced authentication, ensuring a protected and fully digital banking experience.

On this occasion, Abdullah Hamood Al Jufaili, Assistant General Manager – Digital Banking, Bank Muscat, said: “The launch of the new Digital Debit Card marks an important step in the Bank’s digital transformation journey.
