MUSCAT : The latest figures highlight ongoing efforts by authorities to strengthen road safety across the country through stricter traffic enforcement, awareness campaigns and major infrastructure improvements aimed at reducing accidents and saving lives.
Road safety has remained a national priority in recent years as Oman continues investing in safer highways, smart traffic systems and public awareness initiatives focused on speeding, distracted driving and seatbelt compliance.
According to the NCSI data, Muscat recorded the highest number of traffic accidents in 2025 with 271 cases. It was followed by South Al Batinah with 246 accidents, Al Dakhiliyah with 240 and Dhofar with 237 cases.

At the other end of the scale, Musandam reported the lowest number of accidents at 26 cases, while Al Dhahirah recorded 70 accidents during the year.
