MUSCAT – In an awareness advisory, the hospital recommended that pilgrims receive the meningococcal (meningitis) vaccine and the seasonal influenza vaccine ahead of travel.
The hospital said vaccinations help strengthen immunity and lower the chances of contracting infectious diseases during Hajj, where large gatherings increase health risks.
Health officials advised pilgrims to take the vaccines at least 10 days before departure to ensure maximum effectiveness and adequate immune response.
The Royal Hospital also wished pilgrims a safe and blessed journey, urging them to prioritise their health and safety while performing the pilgrimage rituals.
