MUSCAT: The Members of the Dawoodi Bohra community in Muscat in association with Dar Al Atta’a celebrated the World Food Day on October 16.

As part of the initiative, under the banner of Project Rise, Bohra volunteers distributed over 1.5 tons of food items to the needy.

A Project Rise volunteer said, “We’re happy to have played a part in providing food to the less fortunate among us. We look forward to collaborating with government bodies and social welfare organizations to collectively work towards supporting our fellow residents and Omanis.”

Project Rise is the global philanthropic arm of the DawoodiBohra community. As the name suggests, its core objective is to raise and elevate society’s less fortunate in every aspect of life where no individual is neglected, overlooked or marginalized.

The Dawoodi Bohras have called Oman home since more than 50 years and have witnessed rapid developments in each of Oman’s socio-economic sectors. The community members have always sought out opportunities to further support welfare programs, and are grateful to Dar Al Atta’a for the uplifting work they continue to do.
