MUSCAT : His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Sunday stressed that dialogue and diplomacy must remain the primary path for resolving regional conflicts, saying sustainable political solutions are essential to reducing the impact of crises on the peoples of the region.
Speaking during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi at Al Baraka Palace, His Majesty the Sultan said efforts to address ongoing tensions should focus on peaceful engagement and mediation rather than escalation.
According to the Oman News Agency (ONA), His Majesty Sultan Haitham said prioritising “the language of dialogue and diplomacy” in handling regional issues would help strengthen the foundations of peace and improve the chances of reaching lasting political settlements.

He noted that such efforts would also help limit the humanitarian and economic consequences of regional crises on people across the region.
His Majesty the Sultan was briefed during the meeting on the latest developments and mediation efforts aimed at ending disputes and restoring stability, while also hearing Iran’s views on the current situation.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham reaffirmed Oman’s longstanding position in supporting diplomatic solutions and peaceful negotiations as the most effective way to safeguard regional security and stability.
For his part, Araghchi expressed Iran’s appreciation for Oman’s role in supporting dialogue and promoting peace, praising the Sultanate’s efforts under His Majesty Sultan Haitham’s leadership to strengthen security and stability amid ongoing regional challenges.
