Commerce ministry launches empowerment initiative for Sanad service centres in Muscat

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion organised an empowerment meeting targeting owners of Sanad service centres in Muscat Governorate, with the participation of the Tax Authority.

MUSCAT – The meeting aimed to empower the centres and expand their range of services, as part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to develop the operational ecosystem and enhance its sustainability.
The meeting included an introductory presentation on the initiatives of the “Sanad Service Centres Sustainability Lab,” highlighting the key initiatives and development projects emerging from it. These are designed to enhance the efficiency of the centres, raise their operational readiness, and enable them to expand their provision of quality services that contribute to diversifying income sources and achieving sustainability.
The Tax Authority delivered an introductory workshop covering the most pertinent aspects of tax systems and the services provided, thereby contributing to raising the level of tax awareness among centre owners and enhancing compliance with relevant procedures.


The meeting also featured specialised presentations from the Intellectual Property Department and the Department of Commercial Affairs and E-Commerce, focusing on the regulatory and service-related aspects associated with the centres’ operations, alongside an overview of the services provided by Oman Business platform as one of the national platforms that contribute to enhancing the integration of digital services and streamlining procedures.
The meeting also included a number of specialised introductory workshops.
The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion aims to continue developing the Sanad service centre ecosystem by launching high-impact initiatives and strengthening partnerships with government and private entities, thereby contributing to improved performance efficiency, expanded service offerings, and the achievement of financial and operational sustainability for these centres.
It is worth noting that the number of Sanad service centres in Muscat Governorate stands at 264, employing a total of 858 staff members.
