MUSCAT – Chaired by Salem bin Omar Al Hashmi, the meeting, held at the OCCI’s headquarters in Muscat, reviewed recent developments in the sector and explored ways to further develop and enhance its efficiency in line with future aspirations.
It focused on strengthening the sector’s business environment and improving coordination among stakeholders.
The committee discussed several key areas aimed at improving the sector, most notably supporting exhibition activities and enhancing integration and cooperation among companies and relevant entities. It also explored opportunities to organize local exhibitions and events that would help stimulate the sector and expand its operational scope.
Financing mechanisms were also reviewed, with the committee stressing the importance of strengthening partnerships with relevant institutions to provide appropriate financing solutions that support sector growth. It also examined ways to enhance cooperation with financial institutions to increase investment opportunities and broaden related activities.
In addition, the committee discussed development efforts, including reviewing relevant studies and preparing a comprehensive report on its activities over recent years. It also considered a proposal to organize an event bringing together sector companies and government entities to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise.
The committee reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the exhibitions, conferences and events sector and enabling its continued growth, in a way that strengthens its contribution to the national economy and meets market demand for high-quality, specialised services.
