MUSCAT – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of and Qatar’s His Highness Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani warned on Thursday that escalating regional tensions risk disrupting energy supplies and destabilising the global economy, as they called for urgent de-escalation efforts.

During talks at Al Baraka Palace in Muscat, the two leaders reviewed the latest developments in the region and their implications for international trade, energy markets and economic stability, according to Oman News Agency.

They stressed the need to reach a final agreement to resolve the ongoing crisis, warning that continued uncertainty could impact global supply chains and investor confidence.

The leaders also highlighted the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz, calling for intensified international efforts to ensure freedom of navigation and the uninterrupted flow of maritime trade and energy supplies through the vital waterway.
