MUSCAT : The forum is part of national efforts to enhance the readiness and competence of Omani nationals in the heritage and tourism sectors.

The forum targeted representatives from various tourism and heritage-related activities across the governorate, including travel and tourism agencies, tour operators, and the hospitality sector, as part of an integrated approach to workforce development.

The forum highlighted the development of the tourism education and training system and reviewed the training programs the Ministry intends to implement in the coming phase to qualify national competencies in line with labour market requirements. It also focused on enhancing employment opportunities, introducing the ‘Tawteen’ (Omanisation) platform and its role in market regulation, in addition to presenting the training pathways system and the wage support scheme.

It is worth noting that the ‘Tamkeen’ Forum is part of a series of initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in partnership with relevant stakeholders, aimed at supporting sustainable employment and human resource development, thereby contributing to driving economic growth and enhancing the tourism sector’s contribution to the GDP.
