MUSCAT – Statistical data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information in the Sultanate of Oman showed a slight decline in the number of guests at classified hotels (3–5 stars) by the end of February 2026.
The total number of guests reached 439,287, compared to 455,733 during the same period in 2025, representing a decrease of 3.6 percent.
Despite the decline in arrivals, hotel revenues increased by 18.5 percent to RO 69.208 million, up from RO 58.379 million in the corresponding period last year. Hotel occupancy also improved, rising from 67.6 percent in February 2025 to 68.4 percent in February 2026.

By nationality, the number of Omani guests fell by 5.3 percent to 129,797. Guests from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries declined by 18.4 percent to 22,396, while visitors from other Arab countries decreased by 11.6 percent to 14,485.
In contrast, guests from Asia recorded growth of 4.5 percent to 61,581, and arrivals from the Americas increased by 5.4 percent to 16,911. African visitors declined by 12.4 percent to 2,798.
Oceania registered the steepest drop of 46.9 percent, with guest numbers falling to 5,165, while Europe recorded a marginal decline of 0.5 percent, totalling 172,072 guests.
