Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman participated today in an extraordinary meeting of the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Information in the GCC member states, held via video-conferencing.
The Sultanate of Oman was represented at the meeting by Mohammed Said Al Balushi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information.
In his address, the Undersecretary emphasized the importance of commitment by both public and private media outlets, as well as social media platforms across GCC countries, to a unified Gulf media discourse. This discourse aims to provide accurate and verified information issued by official sources.

The meeting discussed an action plan regarding the unification of the Gulf media discourse concerning the current situation in the region through several initiatives. These initiatives include the preparation of a guiding manual for a unified Gulf media discourse, the production of unified media materials and messages, and the development of a joint television program.
