Oman police arrest three for human trafficking and exploiting children in forced begging

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested three individuals of Arab nationality on charges of human trafficking after they were found to have exploited children and forced them to beg in public places.

MUSCAT : According to a statement from the ROP, the suspects targeted children of the same nationality, coercing them into street begging and taking advantage of their humanitarian circumstances to generate illegal gains.

The arrests were carried out by the Directorate General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations, which confirmed that legal proceedings against the three are currently underway.
