MUSCAT : The ministry said fisheries control teams carried out field inspections targeting illegal practices by some fishermen operating in breach of regulations. The confiscated nets are banned due to their harmful impact on marine ecosystems and fish stocks.
The ministry highlighted the importance of strict compliance with fisheries laws and executive regulations, stressing that such measures are essential to preserve marine resources and ensure sustainability.
