MUSCAT: Oman’s Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) said one person has died and another was rescued after three vehicles were swept away in a wadi in South Al Batinah Governorate, as search operations continue for a missing individual.

According to the authority, the incident occurred in Wadi Al Maawal, where flash flooding caused vehicles to be carried by strong water currents. Emergency teams responded swiftly, managing to rescue one person, while another was confirmed dead at the scene.

Search and rescue teams are continuing efforts to locate a third missing person.

The CDAA urged citizens and residents to exercise extreme caution during unstable weather conditions, warning against attempting to cross wadis while water is flowing. Authorities emphasised the importance of adhering to official safety guidelines to protect lives and property.
