Muscat: In an official statement, the center confirmed that the vessel, identified as SKYLIGHT, was involved in the incident off the northern coast of Oman. All 20 crew members onboard were safely evacuated. The crew comprised 15 Indian nationals and five Iranian nationals.
Initial reports indicate that four crew members sustained varying degrees of injuries during the incident. They were promptly transferred to medical facilities to receive the necessary treatment. Authorities have not disclosed further details regarding the nature of the targeting or the extent of damage to the vessel.
The Maritime Security Center stated that rescue and response efforts were carried out in coordination with military, security and civilian agencies. The swift and organized response reflects the Sultanate’s high level of preparedness and national readiness in handling maritime emergencies.
