MUSCAT : The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has issued a precautionary maritime alert, calling on fishermen and tourist boat operators in Musandam Governorate to refrain from venturing into the sea until further notice, citing fast-moving regional developments.
In a statement released on Saturday, the ROP said the advisory was prompted by escalating tensions in the region and the potential risks such developments could pose to maritime activities near Musandam.
Fishermen and owners of tourist vessels operating in the area have been urged to suspend sea trips during this period as a safety measure.

Authorities stressed that the directive is purely precautionary and is intended to safeguard lives and property at sea. The advisory will remain in force until officials determine that conditions are stable enough for maritime operations to resume.
The ROP said a further announcement will be made once it is considered safe to lift the restrictions and allow normal sea activity to continue.
