MUSCAT – Oman has called for an immediate cessation of military operations and missile attacks across the region, warning against the risk of further escalation following joint Israeli and U.S. strikes against Iran.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Omani Foreign Ministry reiterated its earlier position regarding the military operations launched by Israel and the United States against the Islamic Republic of Iran, cautioning that continued hostilities could widen the conflict.

Oman urged an immediate halt to missile strikes and attacks on sites across regional countries, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, Iran and Jordan.

The Sultanate expressed its condemnation and denunciation of any actions that violate international law and undermine regional security and stability, stressing that such developments threaten the safety of peoples across the Middle East.

Oman also renewed its call for restraint and emphasised that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path to resolving disputes and safeguarding the legitimate rights of all parties.

The statement comes amid heightened tensions across the Gulf following Iranian missile and drone launches targeting countries hosting U.S. military assets, prompting airspace closures and heightened security measures across several states.
