MUSCAT : The meeting began with the ratification of the minutes of the Council’s first meeting and the recommendations issued therein. Foremost among them was the adoption of the 2026 work plan, structured around interrelated tracks aimed at enhancing institutional performance, strengthening oversight of local affairs, and improving the quality of the Council’s outputs.
The newly approved plan outlines several key pillars, including deeper institutional integration with government entities, enhanced field communication across the wilayats of Muscat Governorate, systematic follow-up of development projects, and the development of human capital to raise overall performance efficiency.
A central feature of the plan is its emphasis on strengthening coordination channels with various stakeholders to unify efforts and effectively address challenges. It also prioritises expanding direct engagement with the community through increased field presence, ensuring that local priorities are better understood and reflected in decision-making.
