Oman says Iran-US nuclear talks continuing in ‘constructive and positive spirit’ with openness to new solutions

GENEVA : Oman’s Foreign Minister His Excellency Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi met U.S. Special Envoy Jared Kushner to convey Iran’s responses and proposals regarding key elements of its nuclear programme, as part of ongoing efforts to revive negotiations on the issue, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

According to ONA, the meeting included a review of the Iranian side’s feedback and proposals, as well as responses and inquiries from the U.S. negotiating team related to addressing the main components of Iran’s nuclear programme and the guarantees required to reach the desired agreement from both technical and oversight perspectives.

The foreign minister said efforts were continuing in a constructive and positive spirit, with negotiators demonstrating openness to new ideas and creative solutions to help create favourable conditions for progress.

He added that the aim was to reach a fair agreement supported by sustainable guarantees, underscoring Oman’s role in facilitating dialogue between the parties.

Oman has previously acted as a mediator in regional and international discussions, including back-channel contacts related to Iran’s nuclear file.
