MUSCAT – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has issued a Royal Decree providing for the establishment of an embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the Republic of Belarus, marking a further step in strengthening diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Royal Decree No. 33/2026 stipulates the opening of an Omani embassy in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, according to a statement published in the Official Gazette.

The move follows His Majesty’s official visit to Belarus last year, during which he held talks with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko aimed at expanding cooperation in trade, investment, industry and other strategic sectors.

The decision to open an embassy is expected to enhance diplomatic engagement, facilitate economic partnerships and support growing bilateral exchanges between Muscat and Minsk.

The decree takes effect from the date of its issuance.
