MUSCAT : The initiative, valued at more than RO 1.2 million, aims to alleviate financial pressures on eligible households during the holy month.
Badr bin Mohammed Al Zaabi, Acting CEO of OCO, confirmed that the vouchers are being channelled through the offices of local Walis and Social Development Committees to ensure they reach those most in need via established, transparent mechanisms.
This seasonal drive follows a strong 2025 performance, where OCO’s humanitarian aid inside Oman surpassed RO 5.35 million. According to the organization’s latest annual data, its social protection strategy spans multiple critical sectors.
Orphan Care remained the top priority with RO 1.62 million dedicated to the long-term welfare and education of children. Direct food assistance reached RO 1.21 million, while cash empowerment programmes provided RO 1.22 million in immediate support to families.
Over RO 551,000 was spent on improving living conditions and providing safe housing, with an additional RO 236,000 supporting specialized medical treatments. Investment in human capital continued with RO 371,344 in educational support for students.
