MUSCAT : Oman has announced reduced official working hours for both the public and private sectors during the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH, easing schedules to accommodate employees while ensuring continuity of services and business operations.
According to the decision issued by the Ministry of Labour, official working hours for civil service administrative units will be limited to five continuous hours per day, running from 9am to 2pm throughout Ramadan.
Under the flexible working system, heads of administrative units are authorised to set employee attendance and departure times in line with operational needs, provided total working hours do not exceed the approved limit. Flexible attendance may begin from 7am and extend until 3pm. Working hours will be calculated from the time an employee reports for duty until departure, in accordance with the internal mechanisms followed by each unit.
