MUSCAT : The message was delivered to His Highness Sultan Haitham bin Tarik through His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, during his meeting with Maria Teresa Lazaro, who is on an official visit to the Sultanate.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the depth of bilateral relations between Oman and Philippines, expressing a shared commitment to expanding cooperation in economic, trade, investment and tourism sectors. Discussions also covered opportunities to strengthen collaboration in education, vocational and technological training, and digital transformation.
Both sides explored avenues for institutional partnerships in food security, agriculture, fisheries industries, as well as the energy, transport and logistics sectors, underscoring their interest in building sustainable and diversified cooperation frameworks.

On the political front, the ministers stressed the importance of maintaining regular consultations to track cooperation programmes, exchange views on issues of mutual concern, and further develop diplomatic communication mechanisms. They also reviewed recent developments in the Middle East and ASEAN regions, voicing aligned perspectives on key regional and global issues, and highlighting the role of dialogue and coordination in supporting international peace and stability.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Engineer Nasser bin Saeed Al-Manwari, Oman’s Ambassador to the Philippines; Nouralyn Gobaira Baja, Ambassador of the Philippines to Oman; Ambassador Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Hosni, Head of the Asia and Pacific Department; along with a number of officials from both sides.
