MUSCAT : The number of adolescents and youth aged between 10 and 24 in the GCC states reached approximately 12.8 million, representing 20 percent of the total population of the GCC states in 2025, reflecting the significant demographic weight of this group and the influential human base it represents for the future of the region’s countries.

Data issued by the GCC Statistical Centre (GCC-Stat) indicates that the GCC states achieved a rate of 100 percent in providing essential health services for adolescents and youth, thereby surpassing the global indicator of 68 percent, reflecting the breadth of essential health coverage directed at this group in the GCC states.

The Centre’s indicators also showed that the GCC states achieved a rate of 100 percent in national essential regulations for adolescents and youth, compared with 84 percent at the global level, highlighting the existence of national frameworks and regulations supporting adolescent and youth health issues in the GCC states. This reflects two principal levels of attention to adolescent and youth health: the first consists of the availability of essential health services, while the second relates to the existence of national essential regulations that constitute a supportive framework for protecting the health of this group and enhancing its access to healthcare and health services.
