MUSCAT : Oman has resolved the issue of higher aircraft fuel costs at Salalah Airport following the unification of fuel prices across the country’s airports, a move expected to reduce operating costs and encourage airlines to increase flights, the transport minister said on Sunday.
Speaking at the “Together Forward” forum, Eng. Said bin Hamood Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, said the alignment of fuel prices with other airports will lower operating expenses for airlines and support growth in air connectivity.
He said the reduction in costs is expected to encourage carriers to add more flights to Salalah, strengthening passenger traffic and supporting tourism movement, particularly during peak seasons.

Oman has identified aviation as a key enabler of economic diversification, with reforms focused on improving efficiency, lowering costs and supporting sustainable growth in passenger and cargo traffic.
