MUSCAT – The announcement was made in a disclosure to the Muscat Stock Exchange on 1 February 2026.
The bank had initially disclosed its intentions on 14 August 2025 to acquire up to 100 percent of BIMA, subject to satisfactory due diligence and regulatory approvals. However, after reviewing its strategic options, Sohar International has decided to discontinue the proposed acquisition and instead explore other forms of collaboration with BIMA.
