MUSCAT – The campaign was conducted in coordination with the Directorate General of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in the governorate, as well as Al Wusta Municipality in the Wilayat of Haima. It covered a number of markets across the governorate and aimed to assess vendors’ compliance with applicable laws and regulations, in addition to adherence to approved standard specifications issued by the competent authorities.
During the inspection, teams monitored product display and storage practices, recorded observations, and took the necessary legal measures against violations, in accordance with established regulations. The campaign contributes to enhancing the safety of products offered in the market and protecting consumers’ rights. The CPA noted that the campaign forms part of its ongoing regulatory plans in Al Wusta Governorate, highlighting the importance of institutional cooperation among government entities in achieving regulatory objectives. These efforts support the goals of Oman Vision 2040 by promoting a safe and stable shopping environment and safeguarding consumer health and safety.
