MUSCAT : United Nations has praised Oman’s efforts to complete the E-Census project amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Even though the world suffers spillover effects due to the exceptional circumstances, the Sultanate confirms that E-Census2020 is still ongoing and on schedule,” UN said in a statement.
According to Zayid bin Khalifa Al Harrasi, Acting General Director of the Electronic Census for Population, Housing, and Establishments, 92 per cent of the E-Census project has been completed. E-Census 2020 is based on data from national registers that cover three statistical hubs; population, housing and establishments.
