MUSCAT – The project covers a distance of 44 kilometres.
Engineer Omar bin Ahmed Mufleh, Director of the Roads Maintenance Department at the General Directorate of Roads and Land Transport in Dhofar Governorate, told the Oman News Agency that the project includes the addition of a new asphalt layer along the road, extending from Al Mamoura Roundabout in Salalah to Taqah Roundabout, with a width of 11 metres in each direction.
He explained that the works also involve the rehabilitation of the Hamran, Nasheb, and Taqah roundabouts, in addition to the installation of side safety barriers, road marking works, and the placement of directional and guidance signs.
The project is scheduled for completion in November 2026 and aims to enhance road infrastructure, improve traffic flow, strengthen safety standards, and boost connectivity between the wilayats of Salalah and Taqah.
The Ministry reaffirmed that the project forms part of its efforts to establish a safe and integrated road network that meets urban and community development needs and supports economic and service activities in Dhofar Governorate.
